Histoires Tragiques

What a day of mixed happiness and woe!

This morning I was delighted to receive a lovely letter from my dear lost love Le Comte, Claude, who still writes with dedication and devotion, as and when they'll permit him sharp objects.

In shaky but firm hand, he had lovingly copied out a gorgeous poem which I shall now share with you here:

Le Pont Mirabeau ~ by Guillaume Apollinaire

Isn't that just exquisite?

On a slightly less fortunate note, my dearest friend Daphne du Nord has once more been committed to The Priory. Strong and solid though she may be of body, dears, her mind grows ever fragile and it is for her own safety, as well as that of the public at large, that she be restrained and medicated. Please keep Dapphers in your prayers, darlings. I shall post updates on her progress as and when I can.

2 commentaires:

  1. my dear old mucker claude will scarcely appreciate being consigned to a bin by your dangerously erratic fantasy, claudette, it is really too naughty of you and most ungrateful, given his thoughtful (and fruitful!) poetic advice.

  2. A bin? Freddie, darling, I fear you may have grasped the wrong end of the stick!

I make no slur whatsoever upon my dear, departed love, Le Comte, who is - most tragically and at great risk to his very Being - currently incarcerated by the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Bolsheviks following his quite courageous and dedicated investigations (as Commissionaire Extraodinaire (twice decorated) within le Direction de la Protection et de la Sécurité de la Défense) into illegal vodka trafficking in the Ukraine.

Now. Let there be no more slinging of slurs. My love, respect, devotion and admiration for Le Comte is limitless and True, dear, limitless and True.
